Downtime

In between sessions and when there is some downtime, I like to take photos for no reason at all, other than to flex my creative muscles. I specialize in portraiture, but periodically I get a primal urge to shoot landscapes and architecture. Recently, I had a really good friend move into town. He just picked up a new lens and he's got a few weeks before he starts his new job up here. I asked him if he wanted to take a photo stroll. He was down, of course. We took a 6 hour journey through Bellevue, Wa; stopping when we felt inspired. Here are some of my favs from the day.

Photo dump

Taken in Maui, Hawaii. circa 2008

Photo dump

So, periodically I've decided to do a photo dump, where I feature some of my older photography that I've dug through my archives, found, and thrown up on here. Most of these were taken before I learned all kinds of new techniques and such, but I think they are still worthy of displaying.

This week I'll be pulling from the farm trip folder.

My parents own a farm in West Texas. I go there from time to time. I'd have to say, this place holds one of my favorite photographic color palettes ever. It's clear blue skies, and rusty orange and yellow metals always leave me happy to shoot the objects scattered throughout the land on a clear day.
