Happy Holiday's From My Cats!!

I found these festive little hats for the kitties the other day. My cats are all about Christmas, cant you tell? They're so full of Seasons Greetings.

The Best lil' photoshoot in all of Dallas.

I met Samantha and her family through a good friend and client of mine, Rene. I could instantly tell upon meeting her and her family that we'de get along. She's honest, crazy, and fun, and her family is just great. She's got two young boys who were just the sweetest ever! Not to mention, an awesome husband who is equally as good with the boys as she is. This family gets along, and I love it!

My husband Ryan and I tend to think the same things at the same time. What usually happens is one of us just happens to say it first, while the other just slaps something (usually a leg or appendage on oneself) and exuberantly says, " I was JUST about to say that!" It's kind of one of the reasons that I feel we are so great for eachother, we mind linked. The reason I type this is because while I was culling this set, (going through and selecting all the goods and setting aside the bads) that happened yet again. We got to this portion of Samantha's youngest, Chase, and I simply said "This kid?.... Freakin' Adorable!!" Soon after Ryan then delivers his "I was JUST about to say that!" line. The portions of the session with her sons playing just pulled at our heartstrings.There's no doubt about it.

Altogether, we had a really fun day of just playing and portrait-ing. Ha! I was so glad that Samantha wanted me to photograph them, and to capture the love that exists between each member of this family. Here's some of my favorites from the day.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and Just for Fun!

I had to post this photo because it was kinda an inside joke for the shoot. At one point Samantha saw Chase looking really sad. He may have been hunched over and alone or something, I can't remember exactly. Anyways, she jokingly goes "You should take a picture of that right there! The Saddest little boy in all of Dallas" What she didn't realize, is that I'd already taken this little gem pictured above. Chase is not an unhappy boy, just to clarify. He's actually really sweet, which I'm sure you can see from the images in the sneak peek. He's just a little shy and introverted, like most little boys his age. It just so happens, that every now and then, he can tend to look hopelessly depressed. I showed Samantha this photo and we were cracking up. I was telling her that I love it and think its hilarious because it captures everything about the joke. I mean, come on! the kite even appears to be flying low! Soooo, soooo funny.

Chemistry

Most couples strive to have good chemistry and keep it. If you're looking for inspiration, look no further than Brad and Erin. They've got it, and in healthy abundance.

Prior to the shoot, Erin was kind enough to send me some inspiration. It was a session of a somewhat famous couple, which many of their images, I felt, showed how great their chemistry was. During our consultation, I told them both "Okay, but you're gonna have to kiss and be close a LOT" They, of course, didn't have a problem with this. They are newlyweds after all.

By the end of the shoot, I felt that we had an array of connections, even those closer moments where it feels as though its just the two of you in the world and no one else is around or can touch what the two of you have together. I really enjoyed this session and getting to capture the connection.

If you've ever been in a relationship, you know that there comes a point where you call your significant other some really cute/silly/loving/comforting (and sometimes totally embarrassing) name. It sticks with you the entire time that person is by your side. By the end of the day, I was lucky enough to find out theirs. I'm not gonna divulge this ultimate secret , but all I can tell you is it's the cutest I've heard so far.
